PNPI Launches COVID-19 Higher Education Resources

Washington, D.C., June 11, 2020 — The COVID-19 pandemic is having a profound impact on all of society, including postsecondary education. Today, the Postsecondary National Policy Institute (PNPI) officially launched a COVID-19 Higher Education Resource Page for policymakers, policy thinkers, and those interested in the pandemic’s impact on higher education. PNPI’s COVID-19 resource page features higher education-related statistics, information on COVID-19-related federal legislation, information on COVID-19 related regulatory guidance, and other resources.

“As the federal government steps in to assist students and institutions weather the current pandemic, it is important for federal policymakers and those interested in the ramifications of federal policy decisions to have resources at their fingertips. PNPI created this resource page as a natural extension of the work we do to inform and educate current and future policymakers,” says MaryEllen McGuire, President & Founder of PNPI.

The resource page contains but is not limited to:

  • Specific data points related to the pandemic’s impact on higher education;
  • Information about the CARES Act and its higher education provisions; and
  • Information on the U.S. Department of Education’s guidance and regulatory changes.

“We have collected COVID-19 related higher education information in one place for federal postsecondary policymakers to easily access,” says MacGregor Obergfell, PNPI’s Associate Director of Research & Congressional Education. “We hope policymakers and others within the postsecondary education space can use these materials to make well-informed decisions as they shape the future of postsecondary education during and after the pandemic.”

PNPI’s new resource page can be found here.
