Position: Program & Communications Assistant

Location: Washington D.C.

Status: Non-Exempt; Full-time

Reports to: Chief of Staff

Position Summary

PNPI’s program assistant will provide administrative support for the overall organization and for congressional and non-congressional programming; assist in research and writing, event preparation and logistics coordination; help to create and implement PNPI’s communications efforts and social media campaigns, and assist in the development and implementation of PNPI events.

The position includes health benefits. The pay range for this position is $40,000-$44,000. Compensation level is dependent on skill set including past work experience.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Provide administrative support including document preparation and delivery, and data collection and management.
  • Support with logistics and on-site coordination for in-person events.
  • Support logistics and technology coordination for virtual events.
  • Assist with creation, development, and management of communications efforts and social media campaigns.
  • Assist staff in implementing congressional and non-congressional programming.
  • Assist designated staff with research and writing tasks.
  • Special project assistance as needed.

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

  • Exceptionally organized and task-oriented.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and basic marketing.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, internet search engines, Dropbox, and Google applications.

Valued and Non-Essential Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

  • Interest in higher education issues and higher education policy.
  • Degree in education, higher education or public policy preferred.
