PNPI Explorer Blog – Wisconsin
Welcome back to the PNPI Explorer blog series, where we examine higher education data in different states. This week’s spotlight is on Wisconsin.
In 2022 in Wisconsin, there were 62 institutions serving 233,080 full-time equivalent (FTE) students. Using the Comparison Tool, we can examine the average completion rate at 150% time for Wisconsin institutions. 61.57% of students at Wisconsin institutions complete their degrees within 150% of the expected timeframe. This percentage ranks Wisconsin as the fifth-highest state in the nation and is more than seven percentage points higher than the national average of 53.94%.
Using the Trend Explorer, we can see the average completion rate at 150% time from 2012 to 2022. While the national average has trended upward, Wisconsin has done the same at a faster pace. Thanks to a spike in 2018, Wisconsin has consistently seen completion rates running seven or eight percentage points higher than the national average.
