PNPI Explorer Blog – Vermont
Welcome back to the PNPI Explorer blog series, where we examine higher education data in different states. This week’s spotlight is on Vermont.
In 2022 in Vermont, there were 16 institutions serving 32,881 full-time equivalent (FTE) students. Using the Comparison Tool, we can examine the amount of institutional grant aid awarded per FTE student at Vermont institutions. Similar to other New England states, Vermont institutions issue relatively large amounts of institutional grant aid at $14.87K per FTE student, nearly $10K more than the national average of $5.57K.
This amount of institutional grant aid is not new to Vermont. Using the Trend Explorer, we can see that Vermont institutions have administered more institutional grant aid per FTE than the national average every year since 2012. With the exception of a slight hiccup in 2021, the amount of institutional grant aid has increased annually at a rate higher than the national average.
