PNPI Explorer Blog – New Hampshire

12 August 2024 In Explorer Blog

Welcome back to the PNPI Explorer blog series, where we examine higher education data in different states. This week’s spotlight is on New Hampshire.

In 2021 in New Hampshire, there were 22 institutions serving 43,659 full-time equivalent (FTE) students. Using the Comparison Tool, we can examine the average cost of attendance for New Hampshire institutions. Similar to other New England states, New Hampshire institutions have a relatively high cost of attendance at $42.7K, nearly $15K more than the national average of $28.2K.

Despite the high cost of attendance, New Hampshire institutions do much to offset these costs. New Hampshire institutions have the second highest tuition discount rate in the country. On average, New Hampshire institutions discount their tuition by 40.1%, which is 11.3 percentage points higher than the national average of 28.8%.
