
Jacob Martin is the senior research associate for the Postsecondary National Policy Institute (PNPI). Originally from Iowa, he received his bachelor’s degree in political science and business administration from Wartburg College before spending the 2016 Iowa Caucuses and general election working as a campaign staffer for NextGen Climate (now NextGen America). He has since worked with several candidates and organizations, helping to develop field plans for voter engagement while honing campaign messaging. Jacob holds a master’s degree in political science and public policy from Iowa State University, where he focused on the implementation of federal higher education policy and was a 2017 PNPI Summer Scholar. Jacob earned his doctorate in political science from Stony Brook University in 2024. He now lives in Plattsburgh, New York, and spends his free time working as an adjunct instructor at both SUNY Plattsburgh and Stony Brook University.
