
Selena Cardona is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, where her research focuses on how institutional support contexts shape community college students’ expectations and the organization of their plans for adult role transitions and future educational and career pathways. Her experience includes serving as a Staff Assistant for U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer and completing an apprenticeship in postsecondary education policy at MDRC. She has also worked as a Senior Research Assistant at the Community College Research Center at Teachers College and as a Summer Associate at the RAND Corporation. She was previously a Summer Scholar at PNPI.
She holds a B.A. in Sociology from Cornell University and an M.A. in Education Policy from Teachers College, where she specialized in data analysis, research methods, and higher education policy.
