PNPI Explorer Blog – Washington
Welcome back to the PNPI Explorer blog series, where we examine higher education data in different states. This week’s spotlight is on Washington.
In 2022 in Washington, there were 73 institutions serving 252,988 full-time equivalent (FTE) students. Using the Comparison Tool, we can examine the median student debt for degree completers at Washington institutions. Those who have completed their degrees in Washington hold a median student debt of $14.18K. This is among the lowest in the nation, and more than $4.5K less than the national median debt for completers, which is $18.75K.
The Comparison Tool tells a different story for non-completers in Washington. These individuals hold a median student debt of $7.09K, exactly half as much as the median for completers. However, this value is much closer to the national average of $7.25K for non-completers.
