PNPI Explorer Blog – Ohio

7 October 2024 In Explorer Blog

Welcome back to the PNPI Explorer blog series, where we examine higher education data in different states. This week’s spotlight is on Ohio.

In 2021 in Ohio, there were 157 institutions serving 454,531 full-time equivalent (FTE) students. Using the Comparison Tool, we can examine the average net price of attending an Ohio institution. These institutions have a relatively high average net price at $18.6K, nearly $3K more than the national average of $15.7K.

Despite this comparatively high net price, Ohio institutions do much to offset these costs. Ohio institutions have some of the highest tuition discount rates in the country. On average, Ohio institutions discount their tuition by 32.8%, which is 4 percentage points higher than the national average of 28.8%.
