Janice Le, University of Michigan

Janice Le (she/her) was born and raised in the Bay Area in an unincorporated community known as Ashland. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley as a first-generation and low-income Vietnamese-American student. As a young person, she found her voice as a youth organizer and fought for youth rights and against systemic racism in her community for almost a decade. Janice’s family, community, and former students have shaped her career goals and passion for serving communities of color to increase access, equity, and inclusion in spaces that were not built with historically underrepresented communities in mind. Janice is committed to transforming the educational experiences and outcomes of low-income first-generation BIPOC students by advancing racial equity in higher education policies—primarily in areas of college access, college affordability, and educational attainment.
